Background
Alcoa needed an effective method to keep track of maintenance activities across Alcoa’s refineries, smelters and ports around the world. HordernIT were given the challenge of creating an Equipment Management Metrics System (EMM) due to our great track record of quality work.
What we did
HordernIT created a data warehouse and reporting system that tracks all maintenance tasks at several sites around the globe. Data is gathered from around 30 sources, and further calculations and derivations on data occurs from there, Dashboards display a series of KPIs that measure how maintenance on any site is progressing.
Results
EMM has resulted in improved scheduling of planned activities and ensuring that the right maintenance jobs are being worked on at the right time. Since its implementation over four years ago it has been rolled out to sites globally. HordernIT continue to support the product and work on new more detailed criteria to help the business.
