HordernIT helps workplaces to keep fit through web apps.
Background
As part of the VicHealth funded project, City of Greater Geelong, in partnership with GMHBA, has recently implemented Active My Way as a physical activity program specifically designed to encourage office based workers to be more active.
Active My Way is an online health program for workplaces. Employees undergo a six-week challenge to increase their level of physical activity. All participants are provided with a Fitbit and use an intuitive website to record their activities online to measure progress during the six weeks. Participants earn ‘badges’ and rewards along the way and interact with team members online.
Following a successful pilot, HordernIT were commissioned to deliver the finished product.
What we did
HordernIT managed the application build from initial design mock ups through to implementation of the final product.
The application included functionality to calculate steps and distances travelled, implementation of badges, and integration with Fitbit devices.
Results
The initial Active my way 6-week program was successfully completed by 350 employees over 7 workplaces, with plans to extend the program further in the coming months.
